Constitution of the Italian Republic is fundamental and foundational law of the State Italian . It was approved by a 'Constituent Assembly the 22 December 1947 and promulgated by the Provisional Head of State Enrico De Nicola on 27 December 1947 . It was published in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic No 298, special edition of December 27 1947 and entered into force on 1 January 1948 .
Article 5.
The Republic, one and indivisible , recognizes and promotes local autonomies, and implements services that depend on the State the fullest measure of administrative decentralization adapting the principles and methods of its legislation to the requirements of autonomy and decentralization .
